Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Sentwick, a website monitoring service operated by H.F. Tech Consulting (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Sentwick you agree to them. If you use Sentwick on behalf of a business, you agree to them for that business too.
The service
Sentwick checks the websites you add for availability, page content, SSL certificate status and domain registration expiry, and emails you (and, if you choose, your clients) in plain English about what it finds. Checks run from our infrastructure over the public internet. What each plan includes — number of sites, check frequency, team seats and features — is shown on our pricing page.
Accounts, workspaces and roles
- Your account. You're responsible for your login, keeping it secure, and everything done under your account. Keep your email address current so alerts and billing notices reach you.
- Workspaces. Your clients, sites and alert settings live in a workspace. Each person belongs to one workspace at a time.
- Owner. Every workspace has exactly one owner, who controls billing, the team and workspace settings, and is responsible for the workspace's subscription.
- Admins and members. The owner can invite teammates. Admins can add, change, pause and delete clients, sites and checks. Members can view everything but can't change anything.
- Transferring ownership. The owner can hand the workspace to a current teammate. The new owner takes over billing, the team and settings (including the existing subscription, and billing emails from Stripe), and the previous owner becomes an admin. Only the new owner can hand it back.
- Joining another workspace. If you're the only person in your workspace and you accept an invitation to join a different one, your old workspace and everything in it are deleted, and any paid subscription on it is cancelled. We warn you before this happens.
Your responsibilities
- Only add websites you own or are authorised to monitor.
- If you add client contact emails, you're responsible for having your clients' permission to store their address with us and to send them alerts and reports.
- Make sure the information you give us is accurate, and keep your alert email addresses up to date.
Plans, renewal and cancellation
- Free plan. The Free plan costs nothing and doesn't expire.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are in US dollars.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — every month or every year, depending on what you chose — and you'll be charged the then-current price for your plan until you cancel.
- How to cancel. The workspace owner can cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing, which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; your paid features continue until the end of the period you've already paid for, then the workspace moves to the Free plan.
- Changing plans. The owner can upgrade or downgrade at any time the same way. Stripe adjusts the charge for the change.
- Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee: if you ask within 14 days of your first payment for a plan, we'll refund that payment in full. Just email hftechconsulting@gmail.com from the owner's address. After 14 days you can still cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, but we don't give partial or pro-rated refunds for unused time.
Downgrades and plan limits
Downgrading or cancelling never deletes your data. If your workspace has more sites than the new plan allows, the most recently added sites beyond the limit are paused (not checked) until you upgrade or remove other sites. If your team is larger than the plan's seat limit, the teammates beyond it lose access (members before admins, most recently added first) until the owner upgrades or removes someone. The owner always keeps access. Features your new plan doesn't include, such as content checks or client reports, stop working until you upgrade again.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we'll email the workspace owner and Stripe will retry the charge over the following days; your plan keeps working while it does. If the payment still can't be collected, the subscription is cancelled and the workspace returns to the Free plan, with the plan limits above applied. You can upgrade again at any time.
Deleting data and closing your account
Owners and admins can delete sites and clients at any time; this permanently removes their check history and incidents. There's no self-serve button to close your whole account yet — email hftechconsulting@gmail.com and we'll close it and delete your workspace's data within 30 days, except billing records we're required to keep by law. Cancel any paid subscription first so you aren't charged again.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that put the service or other people at risk, or that we're legally required to act on. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Acceptable use
Don't use Sentwick to:
- point checks at systems you don't own or control, or don't have permission to monitor;
- load-test, probe for vulnerabilities in, attack or overwhelm any website or service;
- send alerts or reports to people who haven't agreed to receive them, or use our emails to spam, harass or mislead anyone;
- break the law, or attempt to disrupt, overload or get around the limits of Sentwick itself.
No guarantee of detection
Monitoring reduces risk; it doesn't eliminate it. Checks run at intervals, networks fail, emails can be delayed or filtered, and some problems aren't visible from outside. Sentwick is provided “as is”, and we don't guarantee that every outage, expiry or issue will be detected or reported in time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Sentwick is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for lost revenue, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages, including losses from downtime, expired certificates or lapsed domains.
Changes
We may update these terms as Sentwick changes. If a change is material we'll email the workspace owner before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sentwick after that means you accept the new terms.
